Jennifer Lopez and her husband, Ben Affleck, have kids with their previous partners. Lopez is a mom to twins Emme and Max, 14, whom she shares with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. LLopez and Anthony share custody of their children, with the father seeing them seven days a month. The former couple has also agreed to split their custody on school vacations, birthdays, and holidays. They also decided to keep their children away from the paparazzi. On the other hand, Affleck has three kids with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
Garner and Affleck co-parent their kids Violet, 17, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 11. When Lopez and Affleck got married, the five kids suddenly became a big blended family. Garner, Affleck, and Lopez made the transition easy due to how well they all co-parent.
The “Hustlers” star has never been shy to rave about how great of a father Affleck is. She said her children loved him and looked to him as a father figure. Lopez has been in many public relationships, and though she admitted that ending her marriage with Anthony was heartbreaking, she reckoned she learned a lot from her personal failures.Therefore, moving forward, she just wanted to work on her co-parenting relationship with her children’s father. But when it comes to her career, she will never get tired of putting in the extra hours.
Behind the curtains, Lopez is a loving mother who loves to cuddle up with her children, watch movies, and eat cookies. “She’s an amazing mother,” remarked a close source. Even when the mother of two is out on location shooting, some of her co-stars said she will always be on Facetime with her kids and leave a hard week of filming just to spend the weekend with them.
As a working mother, Lopez wants to be in communication with her children constantly. Whether she’s home or not, she finds a way for them to stay connected. The singer has celebrated many career milestones, but she never wants to call herself an icon; for her, it is about staying humble, evolving as a person, and becoming a better mother.
Some of Lopez’s co-stars also confirmed that she and the rest of her family were all humble. “They are all really kind and down-to-earth,” said Constance Wu.
Before Lopez and Affleck tied the knot, the actress was living in her single pad in California. However, in February 2023, she listed the Bel-Air mansion and sold it for $34 million, cutting ties with the last part of her single life. Lopez had bought the property for $28 million in 2016.
Affleck also got rid of his house right after he married Lopez. After house hunting in California for months, the two purchased a massive mansion in Beverly Hills for $61 million. Lopez called moving in with her husband “an emotional transition” as their kids also moved in together.
All rooms in the house lead to large terraces with amazing views.
Still, it felt like all her dreams had come true, having Affleck by her side and their big blended family. The actress admitted that 2023 was a phenomenal year for her due to all these changes. “Best year I think since my kids were born,” she noted.The move into the new house reportedly had the moving crew working hard as they tried to get all the furniture the actors had into the house.
