Valerie Bertinelli is best known for her roles in “One Day at a Time” and “Hot in Cleveland.” She has had a successful career in Hollywood and recently went from acting to cooking shows where she is the chef.
However, her personal life has had its fair share of sorrow and turmoil, and she has done it all in the public eye. Now, she is doing much better and is ready to take on a new phase in her life with a fresh outlook.
Once she started caring about herself more, she began thinking more about her body’s nutrition. She forgot about how many calories there were in the food she ate and instead thought about if she was getting the nutrients she needed from those calories.
The actress focused on eating and drinking the things that made her body feel better and said that for January, she didn’t drink any alcohol and was planning on doing the same thing in July.
Bertinelli admitted that she has cut back significantly on her alcohol intake and believes it allowed her to shed the weight she was carrying “for protection.” She said she has much more to say on this topic and will continue to post about it before thanking fans for reading, reminding them that they are enough, and affirming:
“I’m really starting to love myself.”
In the clip, Bertinelli referenced November as the month she “got free,” alluding to her divorce from her second husband, Tom Vitale. Fans were supportive of Bertinelli’s post and congratulated her on her achievement.
Is Bertinelli Ready to Start A Relationship Again?
It has now been six months since Bertinelli’s relationship with Vitale ended in divorce. On Sunday, she revealed whether or not she was ready to consider having another relationship.
She did so by lip-syncing to BoyWithUke’s 2021 song Two Moons, through which she confirmed she isn’t ready to even think about having a new relationship with another man any time soon.Bertinelli has often talked about Vitale being a narcissist who was critical of her weight. The pair finalized their divorce in November last year. One of Bertinelli’s fans even asked her what made her tolerate the intolerable, and the actress said this question helped her heal because she got to the root of that and could tap into her healing from there.
Why Did Bertinelli Divorce Vitale?
Bertinelli’s divorce from Vitale was only finalized in November last year, but she began divorce proceedings in May. She listed their date of separation as December 1, 2019, and cited “irreconcilable differences” as her reason for the split.
The pair met in 2004 after Bertinelli’s brother introduced them, and they dated for six years before Vitale proposed. By January 2011, the couple had tied the knot, and Bertinelli admitted she was excited to call Vitale her husband. However, this happiness didn’t last.
By November 2021, Bertinelli filed for legal separation from Vitale, and when her divorce was finalized, she shared her excitement at being happily divorced after everything she had gone through.
Now, she is focusing on healing from the relationship with what she called a narcissist that hurt her so severely through many different mediums. One of these is rolfing, an intense manipulation of the body’s connective tissue. Talking about this practice, Bertinelli shared:
‘”It’s so painful, but there’s a release that happens that’s really helpful.”
On the day her divorce was finalized in November last year, Bertinelli took to Twitter to share a video of herself with “happily divorced” written across the screen and said it was the second-best day of her life.In the video, she said she was at the airport on the way to see her son, Wolf, when her lawyer called and told her that all the papers had been signed. She was officially divorced, and this made her incredibly happy.
However, Bertinelli did not escape unscathed. Aside from the emotional and mental wounds the marriage left her with, Bertinelli also had to pay Vitale a $2.2 million settlement, despite them signing a prenuptial agreement.
Vitale was to move out of Bertinelli’s Beverly Hills home but would be allowed to stay if she did not pay his settlement within a specified time. Bertinelli paid, and Vitale moved out of their once-shared home. All the best to Bertinelli on her healing journey!
