The “Everwood” and “Hair” actor died in a motorcycle accident on Monday, details of which have been released. Treat Williams is survived by his 68-year-old wife, Pam Van Sant, and children, Gill and Ellie Williams.
The actor had a knack for his craft since he was young, so he pursued his interest by acting in drama and musicals while studying in college. His Broadway performances eventually led him to his debut film, “Deadly Hero.”After enjoying a successful career of about 50 years, Treat lived with his family in a 200-year-old farmhouse in Manchester, Vermont. Unfortunately, the actor’s life was cut short at 71 on June 12, 2023.
“It is with great sadness that we report that our beloved Treat Williams has passed away tonight in Dorset, Vermont, after a fatal motorcycle accident,” read the official statement released by his wife and children after the crash.
The Details of Treat Williams’ Motorcycle Crash
The motorcycle crash that claimed Treat’s life happened while he was riding on Route 30 by Long Trail Auto close to Dorset, Vermont. Per the Fire Chief, Jacob Gribble, the other person involved in the crash was driving a 2008 Honda SUV and did not see Treat.
According to the authorities, the SUV driver turned left to enter a car parking when the car collided with Treat’s motorcycle. Vermont State Police said:
“Williams was unable to avoid a collision and was thrown from his motorcycle.”
Although the actor wore a helmet while riding his motorcycle, he was still critically injured. Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.
Per the authorities, Treat was immediately airlifted through a LifeNet helicopter to Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. He was still alive while being transported there and breathed his last inside the hospital.
At this point in the investigation, the authorities do not know the condition of Treat’s body after the accident. They have also not detained the SUV driver as they investigate the crash.
Treat Williams’ Agent Shares His Feelings
While the actor’s friends and costars paid their tributes to him by posting photos and sharing heartfelt messages on social media, his agent, Barry McPherson, said the actor was “killed” on Monday, adding, “His motorcycle was going straight and a SUV cut in front of him.”..CONTINUE READING
