People like to go to zoos and circuses, but what they don’t know is what goes on in these animals behind the stages. The treatment they receive is far from human, and they are actually show toys designed to entertain us.
But fortunately there are good people, and there are cover houses that care of those poor animals.
As you’ve probably heard in the past, many animals in circuses live in small cages in in horrible conditions. And this abuse is all they know.
And these animals which are abused on a daily basis are the driving force behind organizations like Animal Defenders International. They work around the clock to save these animals and give them a better life.
In 2015, ADI saved Cholita the bear. Cholita spent 20 years in the cages, and suffered very constant abuse of its owner; They destroyed her, they cut off her fingers and eventually dropped all its fur. She no longer looked like a bear.
But in the years since ADI rescued her, Cholita’s life changed 180 degrees. She can rest and relax now. She has a place to play and do what she wants and eat whatever she wants to eat. She’s free and you can see just how happy she is in the video below.
