Twins always attract attention. People around are always trying to find differences between twins. Scientists are interested in how there is an almost telepathic connection between such relatives. Twins most of the time are similar in appearance, and they can be of different sexes, different sizes, but there are also such unique cases when twins differ in skin color too!
In the spring of 2005, the Hodgson spouses had a replenishment in the family – two daughters were born with a difference of a minute. Their mother Kylie first drew attention to the blue eyes, only then she looked closer and saw the difference in the skin tones of her daughters. One had lighter skin, she was named Remy, and her twin sister, named Qian, had darker skin.
The girls had representatives of both the dark-skinned race and white. And now nature in collaboration with genetics has created a miracle. Such a case – twins with different skin colors – is less than one in a million.
Parents expected that the girls would become more similar after some time, but these assumptions did not materialize. Over time, Qian’s blue eyes changed color to brown, and her skin became darker. The difference between the sisters grew stronger. Remi remained a blue-eyed blonde with pale skin while the dark-skinned Qian conquered those around her with big dark eyes and black curls.
Many did not believe that they were sisters. People wondered why they always wore the same clothes. Their surprise became even stronger when they found they were twins. Scientists believe that such an amazing case could well have happened when the parents of the children were of mixed race.
As happens in a pair of twins, girls have different tastes and temperaments. Qian is more bossy and noisy, loves animals and rapping. Remy, on the other hand, is calm, loves to mess around in the kitchen with her mother, she first carefully considers the business she will undertake. But for all their differences, the girls remain best friends. They feel each other from a distance and are happy to be born that unique.
