Another criminal incident involving a Tesla has led to another arrest. A heated road rage incident on East Route 66 in Flagstaff resulted in an arrest after an altercation between two drivers. The driver of a Chevrolet Cavalier, later identified as 33-year-old Robert Antherton of Flagstaff, reportedly drove in front of a Tesla, causing both vehicles to stop in the roadway.
According to police, once the vehicles came to a stop, a “confrontation ensued.” However, those involved provided conflicting accounts of the incident. Witnesses told officers that both drivers had exhibited erratic driving behavior leading up to the altercation.
Reports indicate that the dispute was sparked by “driving behaviors, honking, and disorderly hand gestures,” escalating tensions between the two parties. “At the time of the investigation, no additional details regarding the motives behind the incident were provided,” the Flagstaff Police Department stated in a news release.
Antherton was ultimately arrested and cited for disorderly conduct, assault, and aggressive driving. However, rather than being taken into custody, he was allowed to receive medical care for an injury to his hand, reported 12 News.
