Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone was born on July 6, 1946, he is an American actor, director and screenwriter. He achieved the greatest successes with the interpretation of the roles of Rocky and Rambo.
So, many know Sylvester Stallone from his brilliant performance as a boxer in the multi-award winning movie Rocky, where Rocky Balboa fights to survive on the streets of Philadelphia.
And he did this for the first time exactly 46 years ago, on November 21, 1976, when “Rocky” came out in cinema halls and forever changed the history of the Seventh Art.
It was shot in 28 days on a budget of less than $1 million, but it became a worldwide success and Sylvester Stallone, screenwriter and lead actor, became a worldwide star overnight.
In total, Rocky collected 225 million dollars and gave life to five series: Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rocky V, Rocky Balboa and another film “Born to Fight”, made in 2015.
The historic first film title has won three Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Thanks to Rocky, Stallone became the third in the history of cinema, after Charlie Chaplin and Orson Welles, to receive an Oscar nomination both as an actor and screenwriter for the same film.
We recall here that, in reality, in 2012, Sylvester Stallone’s son, Sage, who played in another film of the Rocky saga, was found dead in his apartment in Los Angeles, from an overdose of drugs, as a cause of depression .
Sage Moonblood Stallone was the eldest son of Sylvester Stallone and starred with his father in two films, “Rocky IV” and “Daylight”.
He was the eldest of the two children Stallone had with his first wife Sasha Czack.
Stallone separated from Sage’s mother, Czack, in 1985 after 11 years together. They also have another son Seargeoh.
Sage, now deceased, who was raised by his mother, after his parents separated, had developed a distance with his father.
When he played with his father in the movie “Rocky”, there was also a part in the script that was related to his personal life.
“When I yelled at him in the movie with the words: “You never spent time with me! You never spent time with my mother!’ that’s what I really thought of her,” Sage told People magazine in 1996.
In the following, you will be able to read the message that Sylvester gave to the boy as a character in the movie “Rocky”, which in fact he should have given to his son in real life:
“You won’t believe this, but you were the size of my palm once. I would wake you up and say to your mother:
“This boy will become the best boy in the world. This boy will become someone, better than any other person.”
Then you grew up as a good boy. It was so beautiful watching you grow up.
Every day was like a privilege, until the time came when you grew up and had to make your own way in life, which you did, but somewhere along the way, you changed.
Stop being yourself. You started letting others point the finger at you and tell you that you’re not good enough, and when things got tough, you blamed someone else instead of yourself.
I want to tell you something you already know. The world is not a beautiful field of flowers. It is full of challenges and I would have no idea how strong you are.
It will hit you hard, knock you to your knees, and leave you in that position until you let it.
Neither I nor you, no one else can hit you as hard as life.
It doesn’t really matter how hard you hit others, but how hard they hit you and you still move forward.
This is how victory is determined! So, if you know your worth, ask for the things you deserve in life.
But you should always try to triumph, not point the finger at others and say that you didn’t succeed, because of him, or her, or whoever.
Cowards do this and you are not a coward. You are better than that.
I will always love you no matter what happens. You are my son and you have my blood.
You are the best thing in my life. But until you start believing in yourself, you don’t have a life.”
