Rod Stewart, a British rock and pop singer famously loved for his unique, raspy voice, helped bring a little girl’s dream to fruition.
The legendary rock star was immediately touched by 10-year-old Sophia McKenzie’s story when he read about it in the Daily Record.
After reading the little girl’s story, Stewart knew he had to do something to help Sophia and her family, and it turned out that what the rock star did for them was life-changing.
Why Did Sophia McKenzie’s Story Touch Rod Stewart?
The story developed when the 10-year-old was asked to write a letter about her future dreams as a class task, and Sophia wished for a world where people did not have to struggle for food.
She wrote about how the cost of living crisis affected her family and had them scrapping for food and relying on food banks to eat. Sophia wrote, “I have a dream that one day we will live in a world where the cost of living crisis stops, and everything is free, and nobody struggles with not being able to eat.”
Sophia’s wish was triggered after she noticed that her mother, Heather, skipped meals so she and her three other siblings could have enough to eat.
When Stewart read her story and saw the picture of Sophia’s letter, he was immediately touched. The singer expressed, “When I read this story in the Record and saw the letter Heather’s daughter wrote, it broke my heart,” then added, “I simply had to find a way to help.”
The “Sailing” singer donated £2500 to help Sophia’s mother and her four children. Heather was shocked and overjoyed by Stewart’s kind gesture and said the singer brought her daughter’s dream to life...CONTINUE READING
