The late Steve Irwin’s children Bindi and Robert Irwin are both carrying on their father’s legacy. They are just as dedicated to wildlife and preserving various species in Australia as their dad was.
But the similarities don’t end there… young Robert Irwin had a moment on camera exactly similar to what his father experienced once.
Robert Irwin not only looks like his late dad but has taken after him in other ways as well, including his choice of career. The late wildlife warrior recently took to Instagram to post another striking similarity between the two men that he could have probably done without.
On Thursday, young Robert Irwin posted an old video of his late dad getting bit in the face by a python snake. The young wildlife warrior then shared a video of himself handling the same snake and being bitten several times by it on his eyebrow and nose.
“Déjà vu. Dad and me getting bitten by the same species of snake (carpet python) decades apart,” Robert wrote in the caption for the video. “I found this python on the side of a road, but as you can see, sometimes snake rescues don’t quite go to plan 😂”
Both men who love animals, took the bites without any fear. Much like Steve did, Robert also calmly handled the rescue before he tended to his wounds. He explained in the video, “I got a little too close, so he gave me a bite. They’ve got extremely sharp teeth like little needles.”The late Steve Irwin’s wife, Terri Irwin, and his two children, Robert and Bindi Irwin, are carrying on his legacy and work with wildlife conservation at the Australia Zoo.
