Here’s something you don’t see every day. It’s a tomato that’s oddly shaped like a duck!It was picked by Marie Davidek in Mt. Morris Township MI. a couple of weeks ago.”I thought gee that’s kind of strange and then I put him down and looked at him and thought to me he looks like a duck” says Marie Davidek, found tomato. It looks like duck but doesn’t quack like one.
That’s because it’s a tomato, grown in Genesee County, Michigan.Marie Davidek picked it right out of her garden when she told her husband bob… He had to see it to believe it.”I said no, no and she showed it to me and I said it’s either a chicken or a duck. It’s hard to believe it grew that way” says Davidek. The Davidek have been gardening here in MT Morris Township for decades but they say this is the first time they’ve ever seen a fruit or vegetable that looks so unique.”A lot of times you’ll find a tomato that’s kind of joined but never one with a beak” says Davidek.
The couple says they have no plans to cut up and eat this duck shaped tomato anytime soon. “Hate to see him kind of go and I was trying to find out how I could make him survive but I don’t think there’s anything I could do” says Davidek. So while it still has some life, Marie hopes her tomato brings a smile to some faces as she shares her love of gardening.”This really something that I think a lot of people should see maybe somebody else will start doing a garden” she says.
