CULBERSON, TEXAS: Blue Origin’s latest space mission ended on a successful note Monday, with its all-female crew returning safely to Earth after an 11-minute suborbital journey.
But while the rocket landed without incident, the company’s founder, Jeff Bezos, had a moment of clumsiness as he raced to greet his fiancee, Lauren Sanchez.

As the capsule touched down in the Texas desert, Jeff Bezos, 61, was seen hurrying toward the spacecraft.
While rushing across uneven terrain and reaching one window after another, he tripped over a small hill and fell face-first into the dirt before quickly getting back up to open the hatch.

Sanchez, 55, was part of a six-woman crew that included pop singer Katy Perry, 40, ‘CBS Mornings’ co-host Gayle King, 70, civil rights advocate Amanda Nguyen, 33, filmmaker Kireanne Flynn, 57, and NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, 38.
Speaking with journalist Charissa Thompson after the flight, Sanchez reflected on the emotional moment before takeoff.
“Seeing Jeff before I left, I just went, oof,” Sanchez said, laughing. “Like, you know, I had to come back — I mean, we’re getting married. If I didn’t come back, that would be a bummer for me.”

Thompson also shared a quip Sanchez made before launch. “Only you, by the way, would say this to me. You said, Jeff, if you don’t want to marry me, you don’t have to send me to space,” Thompson said per People.
Sanchez laughed and added, “You don’t have to send me to space!”

The rocket traveled more than 60 miles above Earth, reaching beyond the Karman line, the boundary of outer space.
Blue Origin described the mission as the first all-female spaceflight since 1963, when Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova flew solo.

After exiting the capsule, Katy Perry was seen raising her hand to the sky and kissing the ground.
The pop star revealed she carried a daisy flower on board in honor of her 4-year-old daughter, Daisy, whom she shares with fiance Orlando Bloom.

“I feel super-connected to love,” said Perry. “I think this experience has shown me how much love is inside of me.”
King also recalled a touching moment from the flight, saying Perry sang “What a Wonderful World” while they were in space.
