“Married At First Sight” bride Susie Bradley recently faced a wave of criticism after declaring herself a “hot mum” on social media. The 31-year-old beauty therapist and fiancée of Todd Carney drew attention when she posted a tongue-in-cheek Instagram video, joking that her stunning looks would lead to her children being bullied. Unfortunately, the video backfired, attracting numerous negative comments from unimpressed users.
In response to the backlash, Susie posted another video on Monday where she humorously addressed the criticism by reading some of the meanest comments she received. She began the video by referencing her previous post, saying, “You know how I made that reel the other day joking about how my kids are just going to suffer when they’re in school because I’m just so hot? Anyway, there’s been so many bloody psycho comments on there.”
Susie then proceeded to read some of the cruelest comments aloud, drawing laughter from herself and her audience. One user wrote, “She’s president of her own fan club and definitely not hot,” to which Susie responded, “If you can’t love yourself, who can you love?” Another commenter said, “I saw her at Brisbane airport, looks like she could be mistaken for a janitor,” prompting Susie to giggle and wonder if that was the day she wore her pajamas.
Other harsh comments included, “There are a lot more beautiful women than you, and they have brains as well,” and, “I just opened the link and read the story, saw a picture of what she actually looks like. Her kids will be fine.” Despite the negativity, Susie maintained her sense of humor, replying to each comment with a light-hearted retort.
Susie also faced comments targeting her fiancé, NRL star Todd Carney, with whom she shares a three-year-old son named Lion. One user wrote, “Todd Carney’s kids are gonna get bullied at school because their mum is with Todd Carney,” referencing Todd’s controversial past. Another user cruelly asked, “Does she drink from the bubbler?” in reference to a viral 2014 image of Todd urinating in his own mouth at a Sydney pub.
Taking the negativity in stride, Susie captioned her video, “Ya gotta laugh. Happy Monday babes!” In her original video, Susie had pretended to be upset while telling her fans, “Realising my kids are going to get bullied for having a hot mum.” She humorously added that if followers booked an appointment at her cosmetic injectables clinic in Brisbane, she could help them experience “the same problem.”
Many of Susie’s followers appreciated her humorous approach, with one fan commenting, “That’s hilarious. Made my day,” and another adding, “You are so funny, I love it.” Susie has two children: a nine-year-old daughter named Baby from a previous relationship and her son Lion with Todd.
Despite the online backlash, Susie continues to embrace her identity and maintain a positive outlook, using humor to deflect negativity and engage with her audience. Her ability to laugh at herself and respond to criticism with grace and humor has resonated with many of her followers, further solidifying her presence on social media.
