Khloe Kardashian, 39, has openly admitted that she feels “exhausted” caring for her two children, True, six, and Tatum, one, without the help of a live-in nanny. The reality TV star shares her children with her ex, NBA player Tristan Thompson, who currently plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although Tristan assists when he is present, Khloe finds it challenging when he is away for work.
Khloe explained that the lack of nighttime nannies adds to her exhaustion and mentioned that she might need to reconsider her stance on not having a live-in nanny or at least have someone available occasionally. This situation was one of the reasons she opted out of joining her family for Paris Fashion Week, as revealed on a recent episode of “The Kardashians.”
“I just didn’t feel like it was the place for me. I was getting anxious leaving the kids,” Khloe confided to her sister, Kourtney Kardashian. “Tristan is gone, and it’s hard for me to leave them. I don’t have a parent to stay with them. I kept thinking, what if there’s an earthquake? What if something happens? There’s no parent here. I was just freaking myself out.”
Kourtney, who also missed the trip due to her pregnancy with her son Rocky Thirteen, asked Khloe how she was managing parenting alone. Khloe replied that while she is fine, Tristan’s presence is a significant help. She acknowledged the possibility of needing nighttime nanny support to ease her load.
“So, you have no one that lives in right now?” Kourtney asked. Khloe confirmed this, highlighting her hands-on approach to parenting. She prepares breakfast and lunch for True every day and is particular about handling everything herself.
In a confessional, Khloe expressed her love for her daily routine with her kids but admitted that parenting is hard work. “I love being with my kids, but being a parent is hard. Every day after 8:30 when True’s asleep, I am crawling like Leonardo DiCaprio in ‘Wolf of Wall Street,’ thinking, ‘How do I get there?’ Then you wake up and do it all over again.”
Despite the exhaustion, Khloe cherishes the small moments, such as making “cookie-cutter hearts” out of watermelon for her children. However, she also acknowledges the emotional rollercoaster, feeling exhausted yet missing her kids when they’re asleep.
The episode aired the same day Khloe shared a heartwarming selfie with her mother Kris Jenner, her daughter True, and Kim Kardashian’s daughter Chicago. They were attending a live concert of “The Lion King” at the Hollywood Bowl, where Kim’s eldest daughter North made her acting debut as young Simba.
Khloe’s relationship with Tristan has been tumultuous, marred by his infidelity. They broke up for good in 2021 after it was revealed that Tristan had fathered a child with fitness trainer Maralee Nichols while he was still dating Khloe. By then, Khloe and Tristan already had a surrogate pregnant with Tatum.
Their relationship saw multiple ups and downs, including a brief reconciliation during the coronavirus lockdowns, but ultimately ended when Tristan’s ongoing infidelities came to light. Despite the challenges, Khloe continues to prioritize her children and their well-being, navigating the complexities of single parenthood with resilience and dedication.
