Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist—the first-ever Golden Bachelor couple—finalized their divorce five months after getting married in a televised wedding.
The golden divorce is coming to a close.
The Golden Bachelor’s Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist reached a settlement agreement on June 13, according to Indiana court records reviewed by E! News.
The settlement comes two months after the couple—who met on the first season of the ABC dating show—announced their breakup.
“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations,” Gerry shared in a joint Good Morning America appearance with Theresa April 12, “and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth and we’ve come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.”
However, Teresa, 70, noted that she and Gerry, 72, did not want their split to discourage others from finding love later in life. ”
“We have received so much love and support from so many people who watched The Golden Bachelor, and I don’t think we can tell you how many people told us that it gave them so much hope,” she said. “We want none of that to change for anybody.”
E! News has reached out to Gerry’s rep for comment on the settlement but has not heard back. A rep for Theresa could not be reached.
Gerry made his The Golden Bachelor debut last year, appearing as the leading man looking for love following the 2017 death of his wife Toni. His season ended with an engagement to Theresa, who he picked over runner-up Leslie Fhima.
Still, there was no bad blood as Leslie—among many other Bachelor Nation stars—attended Gerry and Theresa’s televised wedding in La Quinta, Calif., on Jan. 4.
