Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Friday that if Kamala Harris had become president in 2023, the 2024 election would have been even more disastrous for Democrats.
In “Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House,” a book set for release Tuesday, reveals that Democratic officials quietly explored the idea of having President Joe Biden step aside as early as 2023. According to The Guardian, Harris’ team even developed contingency plans in case Biden died in office.
Speaking on Varney & Company, Gingrich argued that Harris would have been such a poor president that she would have endangered the country. He added that the public’s perception of her would have sunk even lower than it was during her brief presidential campaign. READ MORE
