Veteran actor Tom Selleck’s rare outing stirred a major conversation among online users about his appearance and health. While some fans could not recognize him, others expressed concern about his weight gain.
Selleck, who became a household name after his breakout role in the ’80s crime drama series, “Magnum P.I.” made a rare public appearance.The television star stepped out to buy McDonald’s in September 2023 in Los Angeles. He was photographed without his trademark look, his handlebar mustache, which he ditched for a scruffy, full-grown gray beard.
Selleck wore a black t-shirt with shorts for the outing, which came amid a prolonged break from filming the hit police drama series, “Blue Bloods,” due to a writers’ strike.

The 78-year-old Michigan native was spotted making a pitstop at a McDonald’s drive-thru in his pickup truck near his San Fernando Valley home. Fans had a lot to say about his appearance, as some could not believe it was him because of his new look.
“I would never have recognized him,” one fan admitted as someone else came to Selleck’s defense, writing, “Well, we all don’t stay young forever.”
