Accusations have been made against a McDonald’s outlet by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), claiming that the fast-food chain intentionally included bacon in a Muslim family’s order, violating Islamic dietary restrictions. The family, visiting from New York, ordered 14 sandwiches at a Decatur McDonald’s, only to discover
bacon in their meals.
Khaula Hadeed, leader of CAIR’s Alabama chapter, described the family’s experience, stating, “They started noticing it
tasted different to them. They eat McChicken all the time at McDonald’s. They knew what they ordered — they know
what’s in the sandwich.” Hadeed believes it was not a simple mistake but an intentional act of religious and ethnic
bigotry.
The incident has sparked debate on social media, with some supporting the family’s allegations and others expressing skepticism. Despite the mixed reactions, Hadeed called for a thorough investigation and demanded McDonald’s take action, including an apology.
