Yeimmy Ilias Isaza of Barranquilla, Colombia, learned the hard way that teachers are often held to a much different standard than others. Since educators are entrusted with molding the malleable minds of our children, administrators and parents alike often want to ensure that only those with the highest moral standards are in such positions of influence. But, does it go too far sometimes? That’s the question Yeimmy’s case has left many social media users debating.
Yeimmy Ilias Isaza became a subject of discussion and debate when the attractive Colombian teacher was fired. After administrators for the school where Yeimmy worked discovered her Instagram account, they immediately terminated her employment over the sultry photos the teacher posted. Racy pictures featuring Yeimmy Ilias Isaza in her bikini or a revealing dress littered the educator’s account, helping her amass quite a following over the years.
Obviously, not everyone was offended by the images, since Yeimmy Ilias Isaza had garnered nearly 400,000 followers on Instagram with the photos before she made international news with her termination. Yet, administrators at her school were so shocked and dismayed by the images that they unapologetically sacked the educator, even though she was said to have been “a hit in the classroom and loved her job.”
Sadly, being a hit in the classroom and loving her job wasn’t enough to save Yeimmy’s teaching position after the directors at the school deemed her Instagram posts inappropriate. “School chiefs were said to be appalled after seeing her risque pictures of her in teeny bikinis and skin-tight dresses,” The Sun reported, adding, “They reportedly said the image she projected ‘was not consistent’ with that of her workplace.”

While Yeimmy Ilias Isaza’s social media photos are undeniably attractive and exude s/e/x/ appeal, the question is whether or not that’s a firable offense for a teacher. Her army of fans didn’t seem to think so. In fact, her followers were quick to express fury and outrage over her termination, Breitbart reported.
“What a beauty! Don’t pay attention to those who criticize just to criticize,” wrote one follower, who seemed to believe that Yeimmy should be able to wear what she likes without fear of it impacting her job, while another added, “I think envy is one of the greatest evils of our time.”

According to The Sun, Yeimmy shared snaps of her soaking up the sun in swimwear, partying with her pals, in her workwear, as well as seductively posing on a bed in red lingerie while her long locks cascaded down her back. Another photo reportedly shows the educator flaunting her figure in a black bikini while sporting a red cowboy hat and sunglasses.
Since there are no reports indicating that the teacher displayed inappropriate behavior or images in front of her students, it seems safe to conclude that Yeimmy Ilias Isaza was terminated solely because of her social media posts. This has sparked a debate as to if and when a teacher’s online presence conflicts with their duties as an educator.
