On May 6th, a momentous occasion unfolded in Britain as Charles assumed the throne, heralding the dawn of a new era. The streets of London teemed with jubilant crowds, and the grand ceremony witnessed the presence of numerous royals, as well as esteemed guests such as presidents and prime ministers.
Simultaneously, an equally significant royal celebration unfolded across the Atlantic in sunny California. Prince Archie, the beloved son of Harry and Meghan, turned four. Prior to the coronation, the couple expressed their desire for their son’s birthday to be acknowledged should they attend the momentous event. However, it turned out that Harry alone stood by his father on this momentous day, while Meghan remained at home with the children, preparing for a more intimate and low-key birthday gathering.
Renowned royal expert Omid Scobie shed light on Meghan’s decision, emphasizing the importance of Archie’s birthday in her choice to remain in the United States. He took to Twitter, stating, “I understand that Archie’s fourth birthday (also on May 6) played a factor in the couple’s decision. Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the UK for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation at Westminster Abbey.”
Although Meghan was absent from the coronation, Charles made sure to acknowledge his grandson, whom he rarely gets to see. Reports surfaced that he raised a glass in a heartfelt toast to celebrate Archie’s fourth birthday during a private gathering that followed his own coronation at Westminster Abbey, as well as the family’s appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony in London, which Harry chose not to attend despite receiving an invitation.
Harry, eager to return home and partake in Archie’s birthday festivities, hastily boarded a plane at 3:45 pm and arrived in Los Angeles at approximately 6:55 pm local time. Archie’s birthday was commemorated in the company of close family members and friends. Sources close to the family revealed that Meghan herself had baked a lemon cake using fruits from the Sussexes’ garden.
Photographer Misan Harriman, a dear friend of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, extended birthday wishes to Archie by sharing a heartwarming photo from the Netflix documentary. The image depicted baby Archie tenderly touching a photograph of the late Princess Diana.
While many found this gesture endearing, some speculated that the photo aimed to overshadow Charles’ coronation. Nevertheless, an outpouring of birthday wishes flooded in from fans who sent messages of love and blessings to the Sussexes. “Happy Birthday, Archie,” one person wrote. “We love you and your family. We hope to see pictures soon. Blessings. We celebrate you. Today is great because of you.”
Let us extend our warmest wishes to Prince Archie on his special day, with hopes for many more joyous birthdays to come. Feel free to share this article with your family and friends on Facebook.
