Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz started as friends. They first met when Keys was only 14, while Beatz was 16.
They had met through a mutual friend in high school, but Keys wasn’t interested in Beatz then. Through the years, they’ve remained friends, bumping into each other at awards shows and other events.
Years later, their friendship blossomed into a beautiful relationship. By 2010, they got engaged and got married the same year in Corsica.
Keys was labeled a “homewrecker” because of the accusations imposed by Beatz’s ex-wife, Mashonda. Beatz was with Mashonda from 2004 to 2010.
In a series of statements, Mashonda claimed that Keys destroyed a family and made “selfish comments about love and wanting to be with someone even after knowing their situation.”
She accused Keys of being in an affair with Beatz for a year and a half, pretending that wasn’t true. “You have no idea how much pain I was caused because of this affair,” Mashonda added.
Despite the accusations, Keys stood firm in her truth, saying Mashonda and Beatz had been separated for some time before they got together. She then made a powerful claim saying there was no need to fight “what’s not true.”
Through it all, Keys knew many things were being said about her. She chose not to dwell on these things despite them being hurtful.
Beatz and Keys moved forward as a power couple in the music industry. They share two children, sons Egypt and Genesis, but Beatz has three older children from previous relationships...CONTINUE READING
