In a dramatic video captured at a Colorado school board meeting, Dustin Gonzalez slammed the woke administrators who encouraged his daughter’s transition without his knowledge, costing him custody. The heartfelt speech, which went viral on social media, featured Gonzalez promising to punish these unaccountable bureaucrats by fighting to have them replaced.
For context, school board meetings have become highly controversial as many parents have become aware of the far-left policies in public schools. At many such events, parents have voiced their concerns about programs that would allow their children to transition without their knowledge or consent.
Beginning his demolition of the Jefferson County School board, which was filmed on April 10, 2025, Gonzalez said, “I’m not a politician, I’m not a loud voice on social media. I’m a father, a quiet one, who goes to work, tries to do right by his family, and stays out of the spotlight. But now, now you’re going to remember my name. You’ll remember it because I’m not just fighting for my daughter. I’m fighting to make sure that what happens to me, to my family, never happens to another parent.”
Laying out his complaints, the father explained, “In this district, my daughter changed her identity, not after years of discussion or family dialog, not from joint input from both of her parents. No. This happened quickly, secretly encouraged by [the] school-appointed therapist in a system that never thought to include me, and the school didn’t inform me. They didn’t include me, they didn’t even ask me. They replaced me.”
Hammering away at the woke school board, Dustin Gonzalez recounted how he was kept in the dark by the school district. He stated, “By the time I found out, I was already labeled the problem. My objections weren’t treated as concerns; they were treated as opposition. My voice was dismissed as hateful. My presence undermined the therapist, the school, and eventually the court-appointed investigator, all of whom decided that because I would affirm something, I didn’t deserve to parent my daughter equally anymore.”
Clearly distressed by the loss of his daughter, the parent explained how he was mistreated. He said, “They didn’t accuse me of abuse, they didn’t claim I caused harm. The only evidence against me was that I said I’m not ready to affirm this yet. That’s it, and now I’m at risk of losing parenting time or being erased from my daughter’s life, not because I failed as a father, because I dared to ask questions, and it started in your schools.”
Building on his previous point, Gonzalez accused the woke school board of negligence. He said, “You stole my seat at the table, and you made decisions about my daughter without me. Eric Parker, Paula Reid, Aaron Kenworthy, Daniel Varda, and Michelle Applegate, your names are etched into my memory, not for who you are before you’re an inaction cost me, and I’ll make sure my name is etched in yours too.
Concluding his powerful speech, Gonzalez promised to keep fighting for justice. He vowed, “I will be your opposition at every campaign stop, on every ballot, in every debate. You’ve lost the right to lead, and I’ll make sure voters know why. Don’t think you can take a man’s child from him and not reap a whirlwind.”
