Disney’s ‘Snow White’ remake box office suffered a 66% drop in the second weekend of showings. Rachel Zegler found herself in the middle of woke controversies and could end up costing Disney about $200 million, according to entertainment website Cosmic Book News.
Their report on the Snow White flop said:
Final box office estimates revised much lower: Following its second weekend, which similar to its opening, underperformed, final worldwide box office estimates have been revised much lower from $300M-$400M closer to only $200M.
$500 million is the “box office safety net: THR previously went over the numbers where industry insiders estimated Snow White needs to make at least $500 million just to hit the “box office safety net.” At the time, which was less than a week ago, it was expected that Snow White would finish with $300 million to $400 million globally—meaning a loss of around $200M.
