The “Only Murders in the Building” star has faced significant health challenges, like when she was diagnosed with lupus and had to have a kidney transplant.In 2017, the 31-year-old took to her social media to explain to her fans why she had been laying low and keeping out of the public eye for some time. As it turned out, Gomez was informed that she would need a kidney transplant to assist her overall health, which was in decline due to her lupus.

The video was recorded for the purpose of encouraging and uplifting others who may be facing adversities that are unbeknownst to people. A part of Gomez’s message relayed:
