She described her career as one that has “literally spanned decades.” She pointed out how Gibbs is still active in the industry, and routinely outpaces even those a third her age with how busy her roster usually is.
Gibbs took the opportunity to make a joke. She said, “That’s easy, baby: the wage gap,” she joked, saying she would need to work “20 more years” before she could think about retirement. before she could retire. She also added that perhaps Brunson could write a role for her on Abbott Elementary, adding a quip saying “Black don’t crack!”’
But getting Gibbs to star on the show would be a feat in itself because of how busy her schedule already looked. Gibbs’ first role was an uncredited one in 1968’s Yours, Mine and Ours.
