The 54-year-old singer attended the third annual Recording Academy Honors in a dress some considered to be unconventional. She wore a dress that hugged her figure, it was a cream dress that included a corset which was embellished with sheer caramel colored tulle details. The silhouette was incredibly flattering on the pop singer.The outfit also featured a deep necklice that highlighted the singer’s figure in areas not everyone thought appropriate.
While fans praised the singer’s look, with one fan saying, “I like it ,” and another adding how the dress seemed to be “MADE for her.”
Others were more critical and deemed the dress to be a bit inappropriate for someone her age. A user commented, “Maybe in the early ’90s Mariah, but that’s not really something you should be wearing at 54.” While another person added, “At a certain age you just need to cover it up…” while a third one shared, “Someone needs to remind her that she’s 54, not 24.”
