CHARLESTON, S.C. (Lowcountry Weekend) – Get ready for a paws-itively good time with Charleston County Parks’ annual Dog Day Afternoons! These events offer the opportunity for canines to enjoy the waterparks, and take place after the waterparks have closed for the season.
On Sept. 9, Dog Day Afternoon will be held at both James Island County Park’s Splash Zone Waterpark and Palmetto Islands County Park’s Splash Island Waterpark in Mount Pleasant. Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Waterpark in North Charleston will host the event on Sept. 10. There are two sessions at each park, one from 10 a.m.- noon and the other from 1-3 p.m.
