Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness announced that they are separating after 27 years of marriage. The couple met in 1995 when they were on the set of Australian drama “Corelli.” Jackman proposed to Furness just four months after their first meeting.
The actor said he knew from the moment the duo met that they would spend the rest of their lives together. Over the 27 years Jackman and Furness were married, they created a pact and a set of rules to ensure their marriage stayed strong.
Jackman revealed in his book “Father Hood: Inspiration For The New Dad Generation” that he and Furness made a pact to look each other in the eye at every crossroads in their lives, whether big or small. When these instances occurred, they would ask each other if the crossroads were good or bad for their marriage.
For instance, when they had kids, they asked themselves if it was good or bad for their family. As often as possible, the couple would do the thing that was good for their family. On their 27th wedding anniversary, Jackman wished Furness a happy anniversary and said together they had created a beautiful family….CONTINUE READING
