Any pedestrian or vehicle has come across an unsightly parking lot at some point in his or her life. This is irritating, and it is frequently harmful to others. It is extremely offensive when people refuse to accept pleas or persuasions and continue to do things their own way.
Davao Bedekovic, a farmer, resides in the Croatian village of Yakushevec, near Zagreb. He lived quietly and went about his business for many years until a market arose next to his stuff. The majority of purchasers who arrived by automobile preferred its parking lot. It was conveniently located near shopping malls and was absolutely free.
On weekends, there were several dozen «iron horses» standing. The wheels had compacted the earth. Car exhaust and fuel waste damaged the land, rendering it unfit for crop cultivation. For many years, the farmer was aware that his property may have been poisoned.Davao was a middle-aged man who felt that individuals should be bargained with verbally. He confronted the trespassers many times, requesting that they remove their vehicles and explaining that this area is private property and that the owner is opposed to unauthorized parking.
Someone openly waved, others snapped, and yet others claimed to have only been in the car for a few minutes. Bedekovich decided to attempt to seed corn again the next spring. By dusk, the whole area had been cleared of automobiles. The farmer was relieved. When he drove the tractor into the yard in the morning, there were already over a dozen automobiles parked on the field.
Davao made the decision to teach them a lesson they would remember and share with others after becoming weary of the lawlessness of motorists. He lacked the technological expertise to remove all of the automobiles and could not damage someone else’s property, but he had complete ownership of his land.
He leaped onto his strong tractor and hurried to plow the ground around the automobiles without striking them. Bystanders and automobile owners approaching the market were taken aback. They could not instantly grasp Bedekovich’s general concept. The whereabouts of the cars were gradually clarified.Those who stood in the midst of the plot could no longer be reached without special equipment. Drivers who parked closer to the road had a better chance. Everyone in the area who was aware of the farmer’s intentions raced to their vehicles and began desperate attempts to taxi through a strip of newly plowed chernozem onto the road.
Bedekovich’s actions infuriated the automobiles’ returning owners. Someone even called the cops and accused him of causing damage to someone else’s property. The guards came, but quickly moved to the sidelines and began to observe in quiet. A farmer did not harm a single automobile, but he could do anything he pleased with his property!
As a result, Davao finished plowing and calmly drove the tractor into the yard, despite the laughter of random bystanders and the outraged yells of motorists. Motorists from the field’s edge drove out into the road, splitting it in half. One of them, the owner of a silver Peugeot, even appeared in the film of a random «operator,» who then uploaded it on the Internet, sparking a heated controversy.
If it hadn’t been for the courteous assistance of a police officer, the woman would have eventually halted in the dark soil. The farmer made careless drivers understand what it was like to be severely inconvenienced. A superbly inventive approach enabled him to avoid indictment while causing no physical harm to individuals.
Opinions on the Internet are sharply divided. Some thought Bedekovich had passed all bounds, while others admired his tolerance and tenderness. Local neighbors reported that after the police departed, Davao drove out the tractor and «pulled out» all the remaining automobiles across the plowed virgin ground.
He didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. The man was simply fed up with their attitude and hoped they would leave his farm alone. If you travel long distances behind the wheel of even the most expensive automobile, you should not look down on others around you.
It is critical to respect another person’s property, whatever it may be. Otherwise, a less innovative but far more forceful supporter of their rights may cross their path in life and on the road.
